Carta Mensal Julho 08

Oi gente!

Nesse mês tivemos muitas coisas que aconteceram. Nossa igreja organizou uma Conferencia de Avivamento onde tivemos a presença do Bispo Ricardo Dias, o Bispo da Igreja Metodista de Cuba. Foi maravilhoso ver como ele é usado por Deus em curas milagrosas e no encorajamento da Igreja. Algumas pessoas da nossa igreja foram curadas. Uma mulher que era surda de um ouvido de repente começou a ouvir e algumas pessoas que tinham problemas de coluna receberam colunas novas e intactas e já não sentiam dores. Ele também orou por aqueles que teriam problemas nos seus órgãos reprodutivos e nós cremos que muitos receberão a resposta que tanto esperam.


Também tivemos a nossa avó, avô, e nosso primo que nos visitavam da Argentina. Essa foi uma experiência muito linda e já fazia um bom tempo que não os víamos. Nossos avôs estão ficando cada vez mais velhos e nunca se sabe quando os veremos de novo. Não é todo ano que podemos viajar de carro ou de avião para a Argentina. Tivemos a oportunidade de liderar o louvor no treinamento do Mission Society na IMFORM (Instituto Metodista de Formação Missionária) em Teresópolis, Rio de Janeiro.

Esse tempo também foi ótimo porque nós não somente fizemos o que amamos fazer, mas tivemos a oportunidade de conhecer muitas pessoas novas e interessantes com o mesmo chamado. Temos que agradecer a Allison, da Mission Society por essa oportunidade que nos fez crescer e também encorajou nosso primo que veio junto e vem crescendo como um bebê cristão. Estamos num momento de decisões. Muitas oportunidades foram propostas e parece que nos encontramos num dilema entre o bom e melhor. É muito difícil escolher quando as opções são tão boas. Pedimos a todos vocês que receberem essa carta que possam lembrar-se da gente em suas orações.

J&A Newsletter June 08

Hello Friends,
It is crazy for us to think that 2 years have gone by and we are back home already. We used to think that only our mom and the older ladies at church said that time goes by fast, but we’re starting to see that is also true in our lives. It has been a little bit more than a month that we have been back and we’ve received 2 teams from the US. The first team, the Christ for the Nations Praise Band and Drama Team, was here with us for 21 days and the second, the Youth from RUMC, was with us for a week. It was awesome to see how God revealed himself with both teams and how He is able to do more than we can think and imagine. Many from both teams came here thinking that they didn’t have much to offer, but God showed them that He has a plan for each one of them and that He uses them in specific ways to do things that only they can do. To sum up a little bit more about both teams, CFNI’s presence in Brazil was great for the church. The team brought a message of hope for those who needed salvation and a wake up call for the church to get out of their comfortable zone and reach out for the lost. The worship/drama team lead people throughout Brazil into the presence of God and we have many beautiful testimonies from the time they were here, there was a powerful testimony of even a Satanist giving up his worship to Satan and coming to Christ, the only one who can give eternal life. Even after CFNI’s team left, we have people coming to us and asking if the team will come back. Many have said that their lives have been changed and that they want to study at CFNI. Amen! Glory be to God!

The team from RUMC!!! Ha ha ha ha!!! It’s funny to see how the enemy tried to push them out of coming here and showing to many who they believed in. We can say that the enemy is mad because the team persevered through spiritual warfare on their way here and declared in public and private schools through dramas, testimonies and crazy dances that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that only through Him we can win against the enemy. Thursday night as many received the Holy Spirit into their lives as many cried out for His presence. We saw the Spirit manifesting through speaking in tongues as well as a girl being delivered from demonic oppression. We were faced with the reality that the Holy Spirit is real and is alive! Five people or more received Jesus Christ into their hearts, including a guy who decided to come to the bonfire only because he thought that the “Americans were cool.” He noticed that night that who lived in them was much cooler and that he wanted to have a life of peace and joy just as the Americans do. Many great reports have come from the schools and the youth from RUMC-Brazil cried as the RUMC-USA returned home.

We believed that both teams realized that they are the same as youth, but at the same time different because they just happened to be born in different places, eating different food, and speaking in a different language. We all have the same spirit that lives in us, a spirit that is holy, the Holy Spirit. We loved receiving both of the teams and it was a growing experience for us here as well as for you, we hope. We are with our doors open here at Retiro United Methodist Church, RUMC-Brazil and our home, so if you would like to come to Brazil on missions with your local pastor or with your family, on missions or for tourism, you are more than welcome to stay with us. Please write us telling experiences and things that we can improve on. We love you and pray for you. Pray for us, Jesuan and Ariela as we go this Thursday to sing to a recording company in Rio de Janeiro. We have many doubts and fears, but we know that he has the answer.
